Sorry, there won’t be a film this Wednesday, AUGUST 17th, as it turns out that the film we were hoping to show (Life and Debt) has no English subtitles, and even native English speakers have a hard time understanding the content due to the heavy Jamaican accents!

對不起，八月十七日(本週三晚)我們未能安排放映。我們原本打算播放「生命與負債」(Life and Debt)。但我們試看後發現片中的英語對白均帶著極重的牙買加口音，即使熟識英語的朋友亦未能看得懂。另外，此片亦並未附有任何字幕。因此，我們決定今週暫不安排放映。

Instead, we will have shows on the following two consecutive Wednesdays: AUGUST 24th and 31st. These next two films about the Zapatista movement are a departure from the previous introductory films about WTO, globalization, corporate control and media. Having conducted a brief overview of the above issues, we now hope to consider some alternatives and examples of resistance as demonstrated through the struggles in Mexico, Argentina and Brazil. Where are some connections to Hong Kong? What lessons can we draw from the experiences of our brothers and sisters around the world?

就此，我們將在八月二十四及三十一日，連續兩週三晚上安排放映兩套有關墨西哥的查巴丁士達運動的紀錄片。之前的放映，所選片目比較偏重於世貿、全球化、企業壟斷及傳媒的相關介紹。以此兩片為首，我們將稍作轉向，嘗試放映一些展述其他選擇/可能的片目。這些來自墨西哥、阿根延及巴西的抗爭經驗亦將展陳出拒抗的可能。

From the indigenous resistance 500 years ago to Zapatismo, the Zapatistas grow from a resistance movement into a struggle for self-rule.

由500年的原住民抗爭到查巴丁士模，查巴丁士達們由抵抗運動發展至自主自治的鬥爭。

From an uprising in the mountains of Mexico in 1994 to a ceasefire in 1995, the Zapatistas make the transition from armed struggle against their oppressors to silencing their guns in response to the call for peace by civil society.

由一九九四年於墨西哥山區的起義到一個一九九五年的停火協議，查巴丁士達們由對抗他們的壓迫者的軍事鬥爭到為回應民間社會對和平的呼喚而把自己手中的槍銷聲。

From the signing of the San Andreas Accords in 1996 to their march to Mexico City in 2001, the Zapatistas emerge from hiding and enter into the welcoming embrace of a civil society, which both defends their safety and supports their struggle.

From the building of the Aguascalientes in 1994 to the construction of the Caracoles in 2003, the Zapatistas begin by acknowledging autonomous communities that rule from below, to establishing good government juntas which rule by obeying the demands of the people.

由一九九四年建立亞古亞斯加利顏提斯到二零零三年蝸居之建設，查巴丁士達們起步於確立各部族建立由下而上管理的自治社區至二零零三年建立起一個服從於人民意願為其管治楷模的好政府議會。
